The Green Building movement is driving the HVAC community to look at innovative solutions for reducing the energy cost and better IEQ (Indoor Environment Quality). The ventilation and air conditioning system which is a key component in Green Building design is on the verge of a paradigm shift. This shift is providing designers opportunities to explore energy efficient designs. The new initiatives are aimed at improving health, comfort and productivity.

DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air System) has been established as an excellent choice for treating outdoor air. It is based on the divide and conquer approach and removes all the latent load being brought in by the outside air at the source and processes the same to a very low dew point thereby enabling it to take care of the rest of internal latent load. The DOAS, due to its unique design, throws unparallel opportunities to handle varying climatic conditions in an intelligent methodology. DOAS plays a prominent role in providing a “Green Building Status” to a building & achieving LEED points.

DRI DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air System) is an independent unit which is designed to international standards and is alone a complete solution for fresh air ventilation in a building & maintaining good IAQ, while fulfilling the standards laid down by ASHRE, LEED, etc.
It is based on the divide and conquer approach, wherein all the external latent & sensible load is taken care by the DOAS unit. In addition special DOAS units also condition the fresh air to a dew point where it is lower then the room design dew point, enabling the dehumidified fresh air which also takes care of internal latent load.

How does the ULTIMA work ?

The new DOAS is a unitized Fresh Air Management System integrated through a unique configuration of EcoFresh Heat Wheel, a cooling coil and the innovative G3MA “Passive” desiccant dehumidification wheel (patent pending) and a proprietary controlled by embedded logic in the DRI SMART EMS (energy management system).

The unique G3MA “Passive” Desiccant Dehumidification Wheel (patent pending) has the ability to be regenerated with the 50% RH room return air allowing for substantial moisture removal through dehumidification of the fresh air being supplied to the room. This is intelligently controlled by the DRISMART EMS (Energy Management System) to provide rotor speed optimization for different load conditions and different outside conditions.
